Welcome to My Third Act
This is, for me, the “third act.”
I’ve studied in college and graduate school. I’ve had careers in law, gardening, and magazine production. I’ve given time and energy to nonprofit organizations. And now, I find myself joyfully immersed in the world of fiber arts.
Like many, I learned to crochet from my mother when I was young. I drifted away from it for years, only to return when I was no longer working full time. A friend taught me to knit. Two others invited me to a local wool show, where I bought a small rigid heddle loom. I wandered into a neighborhood yarn shop to learn drop spindling. And then—down the rabbit hole I went.
There isn’t an aspect of fiber arts I don’t find fascinating. If I could, I’d do it all. But time (and reality) require a bit more focus. So these days, I concentrate on hand-dyeing yarn, roving, and fleece—and spinning them into yarn on my trusty Ashford Joy (with occasional help from my old Saxony wheel).
This site is my space to share that journey—projects, experiments, lessons, and moments of wonder. I hope you’ll join me in exploring the many adventures that us await in the fiber arts.
